About Humor

Humor may have existed since humans know the language, or even older. Humor as a source of joy, perhaps, was fused with human birth.

If traced their origins, the humor comes from the Latin word meaning old as well fluid. Since 400 BC Greeks thought that the man's mood is determined by four kinds of fluid in the body, namely blood (sanguis), mucus (phlegm), yellow bile (chlorer), black bile (Melancholy).

Balancing the amount of liquid to determine the mood. Excess one of them will bring a certain atmosphere. Blood determine the atmosphere of joy (sanguine), phlegm and determine the atmosphere of cold (phlegmatic), yellow bile determine the atmosphere of anger (chloreric), and black bile determine the atmosphere of sadness (melancholic).

Each liquid has its own characteristics in affecting everyone. Lack of blood causes the person is not easily provoked, an excess of yellow bile led to so arrogant, vindictive, ambitious, and cunning (Manser, 1989).

The first theory is an attempt to explain about something called humor. However, the doctrine established by this plateau seems to have nothing to do with common sense today. In further developments over the centuries was born all kinds of theories that attempt to define humor, which refers to the artina humor like that now commonly meant, that has to do with all that menbuat people into laughing happily.

Theories of humor

The theory of humor are huge numbers, none are exactly the same as the others, none of which can describe the overall humor, and everything tends to be affected.

Today, the most common sense of humor, is something funny, which caused amusement or laughter. Humor synonymous with everything that is funny, which makes people laugh. The definition is not wrong. In the encyclopedia Indonesia (1982), as stated by the faithful.
"Humor to urge that the quality of amusement or funny, due to lack pantasannya keganjilannya or ridiculous; blend between a sense of humor is essential in the human self and consciousness of living with an attitude of sympathetic pity."

Furthermore, theories of humor are divided into groups tida (Manser, 1989), includes: (1) theories of superiority and disparaging, that is if the fun of being in a super position, while the object is in a position ridiculed degradation (slighted or insulted). Plato, Cicero, Aristotle, and francis bacon (dalamGauter, 1988) says that people laugh when there is something ridiculous and out of the ordinary.

Ludicrous is defined as something that violates the rules or something very bad. Jokes that cause ketertawaan, also contains a lot of hatred. The joke always arise from an error / mistake that tease and anger, (2) theory on the imbalance, give up hope, and bisosiasi. Arthur Koestler (setiawan, 1990) in biosiasinya theory says that the thing that underlies all forms of humor is biosiasi, which suggests two possible situations or events that occur simultaneously. The context has created a variety of associations, (3) theories about the release of tension or release of pressure. Humor can arise from a deceit and trickery, to appear in the form of sympathy dna understanding; can be a symbol of liberation of tension and pressure, can be a common phrase or elite, can also be serious as cheap as satire and humor of the road. Humor does not interfere with the truth.

Spirits faithful (in Suhadi, 1989), mengatkaan as follows:
"It is a sense of humor or symptoms that stimulate us to laugh or laugh acenderung mentally, he had a feeling, or consciousness, within us (sense of humor); could be a symptom Atua copyright results from both in and outside ourselves. When confronted with humor, we can simply laugh off or inclined to laugh only; eg smile or feel tingling in the mind alone. Stimulus must be generated separately laugh mental stimulation, not physical stimuli such as dikili-seam that brings a sense of amused but not the result of humor. "
