Basic analysis of drama

Basic Analysis of Drama

The basic analysis is the study of basic elements that make up the play. In this analysis process, the director of my study of the entire contents of the play and capture the full picture of what the play as written.

So, in this stage director will read only the author via lakonnya. Essential elements that must be analyzed by the director are as follows.

The play message.
The message the play is the main communication materials that were trying to convey to the audience. Success or failure of a theatrical performance is measured by whether or not a message to play to the audience. Therefore, the director must find the key message of the play that has been determined.

What would be submitted by the authors through the manuscript play called messages. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet contains a message that someone who has found true love is not afraid of any risk, including death.

This message to be conveyed by the author with a tragic end in which the characters of Romeo and Juliet eventually die together. Dynamics of Romeo and Juliet romance that ended with the death of these are to be emphasized by the director to the audience.

Conflict and Resolution
Conflict and Resolution. It is important to know the basic problem (conflict) in a play because it will bring the action of the characters behavior. Where conflict arises and how the actions and reactions of the characters, on which part the conflict peaked, and in the end how the conflicts were resolved.

All this will give perspective to the director in view, assess, and understand theater of conflict. Besides the author's point of view in resolving the conflict can assert message is.

Character Figures.
Analysis of the character is very important and should be done in detail so that directors get very clear picture of the character. Because not many referrals and a written description of the character in a play, then the director must dig through dialogue sentences.

The journey of a character sometimes not change significantly, but some of the characters in the play (usually the protagonist and antagonist) was subject to change. Therefore, the analysis of this character should be made with care and caution so that any changes experienced by the figures of characters can not be separated from the observation director.

Background Story.
Picture of the scene, events, and time of the incident must be clearly articulated as it relates to artistic layout. To realize the desired state of events such as plays on the stage then clear information about the background story to be obtained.

For example, picture the scene persitiwa is in a building it must be explained what happened in a magnificent building, simple or fancy. Whether building a conference hall, city council, museums, or theaters. In building the story takes place in the hall, terrace buildings, soup kitchen, or in one particular room.

The architecture of the building is using colonial architecture, Spanish style, or characteristic of a particular area. Essentially the slightest information to be obtained. This applies also to the background of events and time. All information collected and selected for later embodied in the staging.

Thus the audience will get a clear picture of the background story that is played.
